KKP Targets Salt Production in Rote Ndao

Investment Opportunities in K-SIGN

The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) is actively promoting the development of the Kawasan Sentra Industri Garam Nasional (K-SIGN) in Rote Ndao, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). With a total area of 10,000-13,000 hectares, the K-SIGN has the potential to produce 2 million tons of salt per year. The KKP aims to start production in March 2026 and is offering 8,000 hectares of land to investors for the development of salt production facilities.

Pilot Project and Investment Opportunities

The KKP will develop 2,000 hectares of the K-SIGN as a pilot project to demonstrate the feasibility of salt production in the area. The remaining 8,000 hectares will be offered to investors, providing opportunities for private sector participation in the development of the salt industry. According to Direktur Jenderal Pengelolaan Kelautan KKP Koswara, the investment opportunities in the K-SIGN are significant, with the potential to create new jobs and stimulate economic growth in the region.
