The Ministry of Public Works (PU) has been honored with the 'Sustainable Infrastructure Development Support Institution' award at the detikcom Awards 2025. This recognition acknowledges the ministry's strategic role in Indonesia's infrastructure development and its commitment to creating sustainable and impactful infrastructure projects.

Key Infrastructure Projects and Initiatives

The ministry has been at the forefront of various critical infrastructure projects, including the development of dams, toll roads, irrigation systems, and clean water supply networks. These projects have significantly enhanced regional connectivity, boosted productivity, created employment opportunities, and promoted balanced development across the country, including in underdeveloped regions.

Strategic Approach to Infrastructure Development

Through its 'PU 608' strategy, the Ministry of Public Works is focusing on quality, efficient, inclusive, and sustainable infrastructure development as a catalyst for national economic growth. This strategy aligns with President Prabowo Subianto's Asta Cita vision and addresses current global challenges such as geopolitical tensions, energy crises, and climate change. The ministry recognizes that resilient infrastructure is crucial for national resilience.

Capacity Building and Human Resource Development

To achieve its ambitious targets, including an ICOR below 6, poverty eradication, and 8% economic growth by 2029, the ministry is also investing in human resource development. Through its Human Resource Development Agency (BPSDM), the ministry is conducting leadership capacity building programs to prepare a new generation of professionals who are adaptive, integrity-driven, and ready to support Indonesia's development goals towards 'Indonesia Emas 2045'.
