The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) is developing comprehensive technical guidelines to regulate and sanction kitchens participating in the Free Nutrition Program (MBG) that fail to meet required standards. According to Nanik Sudaryati Deyang, Deputy Head of BGN, these guidelines are expected to be released soon.
The planned sanction mechanism includes a three-strike warning system before potential closure. 'We will issue a first warning, a second warning, and if there's no compliance after the third warning, we will close the kitchen,' Nanik explained during an inspection at SMK 1 Jakarta on January 8, 2026. This strict measure aims to maintain the quality and nutritional standards of meals served under the MBG program.
The development of these technical guidelines demonstrates BGN's commitment to ensuring that the MBG program achieves its nutritional objectives while maintaining strict quality control measures. The new guidelines will serve as a clear reference for program implementers and help standardize the quality of nutrition provided across different locations.
