Addressing Online Gambling Among Civil Servants

North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution has called on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) to provide investment education to civil servants (ASN) in the region. This request follows revelations that over 1,000 ASN in North Sumatra have been involved in online gambling, according to data from the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK).

The Need for Financial Education

Bobby Nasution emphasized that instead of engaging in online gambling or seeking illicit gains through corruption, ASN should be encouraged to participate in the capital market. He believes that proper investment education can steer ASN towards more productive financial activities. The governor's statement was made during the Medan Sharia Investor City event, highlighting the importance of financial literacy among civil servants.
