Nurtanio Flyover Project Accelerates to Meet Year-End Deadline

Significant Progress in Construction

The construction of the Nurtanio Flyover has made substantial progress, reaching 65% completion as of early November 2025. Minister of Public Works, Dody Hanggodo, emphasized that the project is on track to meet its ambitious target of being fully completed by the end of 2025. The flyover is designed to be 550 meters long and will connect Dr. Abdulrachman Saleh Road with L.M.U. Nurtanio Road, effectively eliminating the traffic congestion caused by the railway crossing in the Andir area of Bandung.

Addressing Traffic Challenges

The Nurtanio Flyover is a critical infrastructure project aimed at addressing the severe traffic congestion in the area, which is caused by the convergence of traffic from four different directions and the frequent railway crossings. By eliminating the level crossing, the flyover will not only improve traffic flow but also enhance safety by reducing the risk of accidents. The project is also expected to support the operational efficiency of the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Rail (KCJB) Whoosh and the Padalarang-Bandung feeder train, which have increased rail traffic in the region.

Economic and Connectivity Benefits

The completion of the Nurtanio Flyover will significantly enhance regional connectivity by improving the mobility of goods, services, and people. The flyover will expand the existing road capacity from four lanes to six lanes, thereby increasing traffic throughput and reducing congestion. This infrastructure development is expected to contribute to the local economic growth by facilitating smoother transportation and reducing travel times. Moreover, it aligns with the government's broader strategy to strengthen national connectivity through integrated transportation systems.

Current Construction Activities

As of the second week of November 2025, construction activities are focused on preparing for the concrete pouring of the bridge body and completing abutment 2 (A2). Structural work is being expedited to ensure that the bridge span connection is completed on schedule. The Ministry of Public Works is committed to monitoring the progress closely to ensure that the project meets its deadline and is delivered with the required quality standards.
