The Financial Services Authority (OJK) is intensifying its collaboration with law enforcement agencies in Central Java to maintain public trust in the financial services sector. This effort was highlighted during a recent socialization event held in Semarang on November 12, 2025, which brought together officials from the police, prosecutors, and OJK. The event aimed to align perceptions and enhance coordination among law enforcement agencies regarding the handling of financial crimes.
Feriansyah, Executive Director of OJK's Financial Sector Investigation Department, emphasized that the gathering was crucial for socializing the new Financial Sector Development and Strengthening Law (UU No.4/2023). This law provides a comprehensive framework for regulating and supervising financial services in Indonesia. Participants discussed the importance of precise determination of evidence and suspects in financial crime cases, highlighting the need for careful and professional handling of investigations.
Brig. Gen. Pol. Latif Usman, Deputy Chief of Central Java Police, stressed the necessity of inter-agency collaboration to ensure a clear legal framework and proper division of authority during investigations. "We must coordinate with OJK and the Prosecutor's Office to ensure that evidence is properly identified and that suspects are determined based on sufficient proof," he explained.
In Central Java, the OJK has already established a task force (Satgas PASTI) comprising 17 agencies to combat illegal financial activities. Hidayat Prabowo, Head of OJK Central Java and DI Yogyakarta, noted that this collaboration is crucial in protecting the public from illegal online lending and financial scams. The task force continues to work together to mitigate these risks and ensure a safer financial environment.
