The largest segment consists of 233,998 agents registered with the Life Insurance Association of Indonesia (AAJI). General insurance agents, registered with the General Insurance Association of Indonesia (AAUI), numbered 21,138. The sharia insurance sector, represented by the Indonesian Sharia Insurance Association (AASI), recorded 135,081 agents.
The mandatory registration, which became effective in June 2025, has significantly enhanced transparency in Indonesia's insurance industry. Ogi Prastomiyono, Head of the Executive Office for Insurance, Pension Fund, and Guarantee Oversight at OJK, emphasized that this database will help in better monitoring and regulation of the insurance sector. The increased transparency is expected to improve consumer protection and industry professionalism.
