Pertamina Patra Niaga has taken swift action to anticipate potential disruptions in fuel distribution following the stranding of two fuel-carrying vessels off Belawan coast since November 23, 2025. The vessels remain anchored due to extreme weather conditions characterized by high waves and strong winds at the Single Point Mooring (SPM) area.
Corporate Secretary Roberth MV Dumatubun emphasized that safety remains the top priority, preventing the vessels from docking under current weather conditions. Pertamina is maintaining intensive monitoring and adjusting supply patterns according to field conditions, while coordinating closely with local government, authorities, and disaster management agencies.
To mitigate potential shortages, Pertamina has implemented several alternative distribution measures. These include supply redirection from nearby Fuel Terminals (FT) and Integrated Terminals (IT), particularly from IT Lhokseumawe, FT Siantar, and IT Dumai. The company has also prioritized fuel distribution to critical stock stations and increased the supply of alternative products like Pertamax and Pertamina Dex.
Pertamina has urged the public to remain calm and continue purchasing fuel according to their needs. The company assures that it is working diligently to expedite all necessary measures to maintain supply stability. Customers are encouraged to report any service issues to Pertamina Contact Center 135.
Based on current assessments, fuel distribution is expected to return to normal once weather conditions improve. The supply of Biosolar is projected to normalize by the evening of November 26, while Pertalite distribution is expected to recover by November 27. Pertamina Patra Niaga remains committed to ensuring energy supply continuity until full normalization is achieved.
