Key insights and market outlook
PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) has officially commenced production from the Sisi Nubi Area of Interest (AOI) 1-3-5 project, with initial output reaching 20 MMscfd by December 8, 2025. The project involves six new platforms, three existing facility deck extensions, and 22 kilometers of subsea pipelines at depths of 60-80 meters. Production began with well SS-401 on December 4, 2025, initially flowing at 2.4 MMscfd before ramping up to 10 MMscfd after choke adjustment.
PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) has officially commenced production from the Sisi Nubi Area of Interest (AOI) 1-3-5 project. The production startup was marked by the operation of well SS-401 at Platform WPS4 on December 4, 2025, at 12:23 WITA. The initial flow rate was recorded at 2.4 MMscfd, which was subsequently ramped up to 10 MMscfd after choke adjustment to 42/64”. By December 8, 2025, PHM targeted combined production from two wells—SS-401 and SS-406—to reach 20 MMscfd.
The Sisi Nubi AOI project is a comprehensive development involving six new platforms, three extensions of existing facility decks, and the installation of six segments of subsea pipelines spanning 22 kilometers at water depths ranging from 60 to 80 meters. During the development phase, the project will involve drilling 36 wells across the six platforms. This infrastructure development is crucial for optimizing the field's production capacity and enhancing overall energy output.
The commencement of production from this project marks a significant milestone for PHM and Pertamina in their efforts to maintain and enhance Indonesia's energy production capabilities. The successful implementation of the Sisi Nubi AOI project demonstrates PHM's operational capabilities in managing complex offshore developments and underscores its commitment to contributing to Indonesia's energy security.
