Comprehensive Deployment of Tankers and Support Vessels

PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) has taken proactive measures to maintain national energy distribution during the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year period by deploying a total of 332 tankers. These vessels are tasked with transporting crude oil, fuel products, LPG, and petrochemicals across various regions of Indonesia. The company's Acting Corporate Secretary, Alih Istik Wahyuni, emphasized that the deployment is part of PIS's strategy to ensure energy security during the peak demand period.

Backup Plans and Supporting Infrastructure

In addition to the primary fleet of 332 tankers, PIS has strategically prepared 12 reserve tankers to address any unexpected surges in energy consumption. The company is also leveraging its subsidiary, PT Pertamina Trans Kontinental (PTK), which has mobilized 338 supporting vessels, including tugboats, to facilitate smooth docking and unloading operations at ports.

Digital Monitoring and Risk Mitigation

PIS has implemented a centralized monitoring post that is integrated with digital systems to oversee all operational activities. This advanced monitoring capability enhances risk mitigation efforts and ensures the safety and reliability of energy distribution. Alih Istik Wahyuni highlighted that the digitalization of operations plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of the supply chain during this critical period.

Strategic Preparation for Peak Demand

The preparation by PIS reflects the company's commitment to maintaining energy supply stability during the year-end festivities when energy consumption typically spikes. By mobilizing its extensive fleet and support infrastructure, PIS aims to guarantee the uninterrupted supply of fuel and LPG to meet public demand.
