Pertamina Achieves Milestone with First Crude Oil Shipment from Algeria

Strategic Expansion in International Markets

PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) has successfully executed the first lifting of 1 million barrels of crude oil from Arzew Port in Oran, Algeria, to Indonesia. This significant achievement marks a major milestone in Pertamina's international expansion efforts. The shipment was carried out by PT Pertamina Internasional EP (PIEP), a subsidiary of PHE, demonstrating the company's growing capabilities in international oil and gas operations.

Long-term Operational Security through PSC Extension

This first lifting is part of the extended Production Sharing Contract (PSC) Blok 405A, which ensures Pertamina's continued operations in Algeria for the next 25 years. The contract extension provides long-term operational security and strengthens Pertamina's presence in the Algerian energy sector. This strategic partnership has been built on more than 25 years of commercial collaboration between Pertamina and Sonatrach, Algeria's state-owned energy company.

Strengthening International Presence

Syamsu Yudha, CEO of PIEP, emphasized that this achievement represents a significant step in establishing Pertamina as a major international oil and gas player. The successful execution of this shipment is expected to further strengthen the cooperation between Pertamina and Sonatrach, potentially leading to more robust and sustainable partnerships in the future.
