In response to the recent flooding in North Sumatra and Aceh, PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) and Pertamina have mobilized emergency assistance through their corporate social responsibility initiative, Pertamina Peduli. The first phase of aid, valued at Rp 180 million, focuses on delivering essential supplies to affected communities.
The assistance package includes a wide range of critical items such as food staples (rice, cooking oil, instant noodles), medical supplies, and baby care essentials (diapers, sanitary products). The distribution strategy involves coordination with BNPB (National Disaster Management Agency) and local disaster management agencies to ensure timely delivery to those in need.
Additional support is being transported from Jakarta using a Hercules aircraft from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport. The aid will be distributed across three main regions: North Sumatra, West Sumatra, and Aceh, with the initial phase focusing on the most urgently needed supplies for North Sumatra and Aceh.
Fajriyah Usman, Corporate Secretary of PGN, emphasized the company's commitment to supporting disaster relief efforts. "Through Pertamina Peduli, we are working together with all Pertamina Subholding and Holding entities to provide heartfelt support to the affected communities," she stated. The company is maintaining close coordination with local authorities to ensure effective delivery of aid.
