PGN's Danau Kemiri Tourism Project Transforms Muara Enim Community Economy

Comprehensive Community Development Initiative

PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN), as a Pertamina Gas Subholding, has implemented a comprehensive community development program in Pagardewa Village, Muara Enim Regency. The Danau Kemiri tourism project, part of the Pendekar Dewa initiative, represents a significant effort to diversify the local economy and enhance community resilience.

Three-Pillar Development Strategy

The Pendekar Dewa program is structured around three main pillars: Aman (Safety), Setara (Equality), and Ekonomi Kreatif (Creative Economy). The Aman pillar focuses on stabilizing rubber farmers' income through initiatives like the Latex Station Program, which has increased farmers' annual income to Rp57.6 million, representing a 33.3% growth. The Setara pillar addresses clean water access through the construction of five MCK facilities powered by PLTS, benefiting 28 families.

Danau Kemiri Tourism Development

The Ekonomi Kreatif pillar is manifested through the Danau Kemiri tourism area development, featuring various public facilities including an aula, UMKM booths, playground, traffic park, and amphitheater. This integrated public space serves multiple purposes: educational tourism, social interaction, and alternative water source for environmental resilience. The project's impact is evident in the 191% increase in tourist visits and Rp92.48 million revenue generated during 2025.

Sustainability Focus

PGN's Director of Risk Management, Eri Surya Kelana, emphasized that the program is designed to create sustainable long-term impact through phased implementation. The project's success demonstrates how strategic CSR initiatives can transform local economies while addressing community needs and environmental challenges.
