PLN Enhances Banda Aceh Power Supply Ahead of Holidays

Strategic Power Generation Initiative

PT PLN (Persero), through its subsidiary PLN Nusa Daya, has commenced operations of the 15 MW Krueng Raya Diesel Power Plant in Aceh Besar. This initiative is part of PLN's strategic efforts to accelerate the recovery of Banda Aceh's electricity system following recent disasters. The additional power generation is particularly crucial as it coincides with the New Year and Ramadan festivities.

Key Details of the Power Enhancement

The activation of the PLTD Krueng Raya brings Banda Aceh's total power supply to 32 MW, significantly enhancing the region's electricity capacity. PLN's Director General, Darmawan Prasodjo, emphasized that this move is essential for meeting the basic needs of the community and restoring normal social and economic activities. The diesel power plant serves as a critical component in stabilizing the local electricity grid during this period.

Implementation and Future Plans

Rizal Calvary Marimbo, Director of Power Generation Management at PLN, highlighted that the operation of the Krueng Raya PLTD is a proactive measure to ensure electricity reliability. This step underscores PLN's commitment to providing consistent power supply, particularly in regions recovering from natural disasters. The successful implementation of this initiative is expected to support the overall economic and social recovery in Banda Aceh.
