The state-owned electricity company has prepared a total power supply capacity of 53.9 giga watts (GW), significantly exceeding the expected peak load of 46.8 GW. This results in a healthy reserve margin of 7 GW, equivalent to 15%, which is considered more than adequate by industry standards.
Suroso Isnandar, Director of Project Management and New Renewable Energy at PLN, reported that all electrical infrastructure has been meticulously prepared for the Nataru period. The company has confirmed that both power generation capacity and primary energy supplies are sufficient to meet the increased demand during the holiday season. This preparation ensures that consumers can enjoy the festive period with reliable and uninterrupted electricity supply.
