Celebrating 80 Years of Electricity for All

In a heartwarming ceremony, PT PLN (Persero) has successfully connected electricity to 171 underprivileged households in Tulungagung, East Java, as part of its 'Berbagi Cahaya, Menumbuhkan Harapan' (Sharing Light, Growing Hope) initiative. This program, launched in conjunction with the 80th National Electricity Day, represents PLN's ongoing commitment to achieving universal electricity access across Indonesia.

Transforming Lives Through Electricity Access

For residents like Parno, a 50-year-old daily laborer from Desa Bukur, the arrival of electricity has been a life-changing event. 'Now we can be more comfortable in our daily activities because we have electricity. Thank you for the free electricity connection,' Parno expressed his gratitude. The presence of electricity is expected to open up new opportunities for economic activities, education, and overall quality of life improvements in these previously unlit homes.

Community Support and Collaboration

The event was attended by Tulungagung Regent Gatut Sunu Wibowo, who expressed his appreciation for PLN's efforts to bring essential services to remote areas. 'We are ready to support and collaborate with PLN to improve the economic welfare of our community, especially in Tulungagung,' Gatut stated. The ceremony highlighted the strong partnership between PLN and local government in driving community development.

Comprehensive Community Development Program

Beyond providing free electricity connections, PLN also distributed 25 food packages to local residents, operational assistance to Darussalam Islamic Boarding School and 'Aisyiyah Siti Fatimah Orphanage, and educational materials to students. These additional support measures demonstrate PLN's holistic approach to community development, addressing both immediate needs and long-term educational opportunities.
