PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) has successfully distributed humanitarian aid to victims of recent floods and landslides in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. The aid was delivered through an innovative approach where products made by PNM's customers were channeled to those in need. The initiative involved the production and distribution of over 2,000 packages of ready-to-eat abon and rendang, which were sent to more than 10 distribution points including evacuation centers, relief kitchens, and homes of PNM Mekaar customers in Aceh Tamiang.
Hani Susanti, a PNM customer from Serang who produces packaged abon, expressed her emotional connection to the initiative. "As a small business owner, I never imagined that our products could reach our brothers and sisters in Aceh. I'm grateful to be able to help. I hope this abon can provide some strength to them in these difficult times," she said. Similarly, Ningsih, a PNM customer from Padang who runs a rendang business, felt compelled to help. "When we heard that fellow PNM customers were affected by the disaster, we felt called to action. We want to share what we have. This rendang may be simple, but we hope it can provide energy and spirit to those struggling," she explained.
Dodot Patria Ary, PNM's Corporate Secretary, emphasized that this initiative reflects the values that PNM upholds. "We are deeply saddened by the disaster that has affected communities in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. In our efforts to support recovery, we involved PNM Mekaar customers who have food businesses. More than 2,000 products made by our customers, such as abon and rendang, have been distributed. We hope this aid can ease their food needs and strengthen their spirits," he stated. The initiative goes beyond just providing food; it represents care, solidarity, and a commitment to ensuring that no one faces challenges alone.
This humanitarian effort demonstrates the strong bond within the PNM community. By involving customers in the aid process, PNM has fostered a sense of togetherness and mutual support. The company's approach to community empowerment is evident in how it has enabled customers to contribute to the relief efforts. As Ningsih aptly put it, "PNM has taught us not just to grow individually, but to support each other. In times like these, that sense of togetherness feels very real."
