PNM Supports National Reforestation with 374,839 Trees

Environmental Conservation Efforts

PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) has demonstrated its commitment to environmental conservation through its 'PNM Hijaukan Negeri' program, planting a total of 374,839 trees as of December 2025. This achievement combines 287,761 trees planted in 67 locations during 2024 and an additional 87,078 trees in 2025. The initiative is part of the company's broader strategy to support the Government's 'Gerakan Nasional Penanaman Satu Miliar Pohon' (GNP-SMP) campaign, which aims to enhance national vegetation cover and restore critical land.

Ecological and Economic Benefits

The trees planted by PNM are selected based on the ecological characteristics of each region, including mangroves and casuarina for coastal areas, rambai and jelutung rawa for wetlands, and various species like glodokan, trembesi, tabebuya, and fruit trees for public spaces. The inclusion of productive trees such as mango, avocado, durian, nutmeg, cocoa, and coffee provides additional economic value to local communities, aligning with the GNP-SMP's objective of encouraging community participation.

Community Engagement and Sustainability Goals

PNM's tree planting activities are conducted in collaboration with local communities and the company's clients, fostering a collective movement towards environmental stewardship. The company's efforts are expected to improve air quality, enhance coastal ecosystems, and provide natural protection against floods and abrasion. By supporting the GNP-SMP and celebrating the 'Hari Gerakan Satu Juta Pohon', PNM contributes to the achievement of several Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 14 (Life Below Water), and SDG 15 (Life on Land).
