The system is expected to generate significant energy savings, following the success of a similar installation at Primaya Hospital Bekasi Timur which saved 477,000 kWh and Rp68 million in the past year.
Primaya Hospital Karawang, part of the Primaya Hospital Group managed by PT Famon Awal Bros Sedaya Tbk (PRAY), has taken a significant step towards sustainable healthcare by installing a 164.7 kWp rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) system across a 1,123 m² area. This initiative makes Primaya Hospital Karawang the first healthcare facility in Karawang to integrate solar energy into its power infrastructure.
This latest installation follows the successful implementation of a similar solar power system at Primaya Hospital Bekasi Timur in 2024, marking the first private hospital in the Jabodetabek region to operate with renewable energy. The previous installation has demonstrated substantial benefits, saving over 477,000 kWh of energy and achieving cost efficiencies of approximately Rp68 million within the first year of operation.
The adoption of solar power represents a significant commitment to environmental sustainability in the healthcare sector. Leona A. Karnali, CEO of Primaya Hospital Group, highlighted that the success of these initiatives demonstrates the potential for healthcare facilities to reduce their environmental footprint while achieving cost savings. The installation was attended by various dignitaries including Yuli Astuti Saripawan, Director of Referral Health Services at the Ministry of Health, and H. Maslani, Vice Regent of Karawang.
