In response to the recent floods and landslides in Aceh and North Sumatra, Indonesia's state-owned enterprises (BUMN) have launched a comprehensive relief operation. Danantara, in collaboration with BP BUMN, has successfully coordinated the delivery of dozens of tons of aid to affected regions. The relief effort has utilized special aircraft from Garuda-Citilink to reach isolated areas, particularly in northern Aceh.
The first wave of aid was dispatched during the weekend, followed by subsequent deliveries consolidated on Monday (01/12/2025). In the initial shipment, 9.4 tons of aid were successfully transported to Aceh via Kualanamu International Airport and then forwarded to Lhokseumawe. The aid was received by local disaster management authorities (BPBD) and TNI personnel, who then distributed it to various relief posts, public facilities, and areas accessible only by high-clearance vehicles or boats.
Danantara CEO Rosan Roeslani emphasized the unity of BUMN during crises, stating, "When society needs help, the BUMN family moves as one. Speed is crucial." The coordinated effort demonstrates the effectiveness of Indonesia's state-owned enterprises in responding to national emergencies.
This relief operation highlights the critical role of BUMN in supporting disaster response efforts. By leveraging their collective resources and capabilities, these state-owned enterprises have made a significant impact in providing timely assistance to affected communities.
