PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk (AMRT), the operator of Alfamart retail chain, is poised for improved performance as the 2025/2026 Natal dan Tahun Baru (Nataru) season approaches. According to Abida Massi Armand, Fundamental Analyst at BRI Danareksa Sekuritas, this projection aligns with the anticipated recovery in consumer purchasing power during Q4-2025. The recovery is expected to be supported by the government's social assistance programs amounting to approximately Rp 30 trillion.
The segments expected to experience a surge in demand are food & groceries, including daily necessities and seasonal goods, as well as non-food high-margin products such as household and personal care items. Abida explained that the Nataru period is historically associated with increased household consumption, family celebrations, and travel activities, which in turn drive store traffic and average basket size for AMRT. Notably, regions outside Java are anticipated to record the most aggressive growth.
