The banking sector also experienced a significant surge with 41.15% growth, recording 4,874 suspicious transactions by September 2025, up from 3,543 in the previous year.
The insurance industry saw a notable rise in suspicious activities, with transactions increasing by 44.4% to 1,770 cases in 2025 from 1,225 cases in 2024. In contrast, the tax sector was the only segment that recorded a decline, with suspicious transactions dropping by 14% to 3,941 in Q3 2025, down from 4,630 in the same period the previous year.
The PPATK categorizes suspicious financial transactions into four main definitions: transactions deviating from normal user behavior, transactions suspected of tax evasion, transactions involving suspected criminal proceeds, and transactions requested by PPATK due to suspected criminal origins. This comprehensive reporting framework helps identify potential financial crimes and money laundering activities across various sectors.
