Telkomsel Enhances Network Capacity for Christmas and New Year

Network Upgrades Across High-Traffic Areas

Telkomsel, a subsidiary of PT Telkom Indonesia Tbk (TLKM), is taking proactive measures to strengthen its network infrastructure in anticipation of the surge in traffic during the Christmas and New Year period. The company is focusing on upgrading its 4G and 5G networks at 437 high-traffic locations, including shopping centers, transit areas, toll roads, residential areas, and places of worship.

Expanding 5G Coverage

In addition to the network upgrades, Telkomsel is also expanding its 5G coverage, with plans to have its 5G network supported by over 5,000 base transceiver stations (BTS) by the end of 2025. This expansion is part of the company's strategy to enhance its network capacity and provide faster data services to its customers.

Monitoring and Maintenance

To ensure the quality of its services, Telkomsel is operating 15 Network Alert posts during the holiday period. These posts will monitor the network's performance and enable the company to respond quickly to any issues that may arise.

Anticipating Increased Data Usage

Telkomsel is projecting an increase in data usage for streaming, social media, and online gaming during the Christmas and New Year period. By strengthening its network capacity and expanding its 5G coverage, the company aims to provide stable and reliable services to its customers, even during peak usage periods.
