The Whoosh high-speed train service operated by KCIC has recorded an unprecedented 24,439 passengers during the 2025 Nataru period, marking a significant increase in travel activity. According to General Manager Corporate Secretary KCIC, Eva Chairunnisa, the average daily passenger count had already exceeded 21,000 in the preceding days, setting the stage for the eventual peak.
By December 25, 2025, a total of 16,000 Whoosh tickets had been sold, with occupancy rates at Halim Station reaching over 90% during peak hours. Other departure schedules maintained occupancy levels around 70%. The high demand has prompted KCIC to anticipate further increases in passenger numbers throughout the Nataru period.
KCIC has been monitoring the situation closely and is prepared to manage the high volume of passengers. The company has noted that many travelers are still expected to depart, potentially pushing the total passenger count even higher than the current record. The success of the Whoosh service during this period underscores its growing popularity as a preferred mode of transportation during major holidays.
