The Deputy Commissioner for Supervision of Investment Management and Securities Institutions at OJK, Eddy Manindo Harahap, explained that interest in the Carbon Exchange index continues to grow.
As of December 24, 2025, a total of 1.6 million tons of CO2 equivalent have been traded. "Since its launch on September 26, 2023, to December 24, 2025, the total accumulated transaction volume reached 1.6 million tons of CO2 equivalent, with a total accumulated transaction value of Rp 80,75 billion," Eddy stated during a press conference at the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) building in Jakarta on Tuesday (30/12/2025).
To date, 150 companies have participated in the Carbon Exchange. Additionally, 2.67 million tons of CO2 equivalent are still available. According to the IDXCarbon website, there are currently 9 projects being traded, including renewable energy-based power plants, gas-fired power plant efficiency, and industrial waste utilization for energy.
